Laurie:
Thanks for your letter and for giving us your home page address. It's a great home
page, and it was fun seeing our letter reproduced along with the "Shoe" cartoon.
Only one problem: your page makes us drool for some of your goodies! Too bad we are
so far away.
All the best.

You have a great web page. It was a lot of fun exploring it. I wish that I weren't too
far away to enjoy the food.
Best Wishes

Hi, Laurie.... I was in your establishment in early June. Your chili is among the best
I've ever had and I would LOVE a copy of the recipe. I promise I will not be coming 4000
miles and be a competitor and want it for my personal use only. I just called you and said
I'd send a stamped, self-adressed envelope, but if you can e-mail me the proportions, I'd
appreciate it greatly. Your web page is great! Thanks for taking time to talk with me and
I hope to hear from you soon.

You have a beautiful website & if I am ever lucky enough to get to Fairbanks I'll
be sure to stop in! I usually take a look once a day at the Alaskan weather - it
looks like a different planet to this south Florida resident.
Thanks a lot & best of luck at the deli.
Kris
Great looking place - looks like a nice day - but winters coming. I'll have a hot beef
on rye with pickles.

(I guess, just about the furtherest place from Fairbanks on the planet!!!)
I really enjoy your page. I found it while looking for a friend stationed in Fairbanks.
However, you continue to promulgate inaccuracies when you write that the Earl of Sandwich
is responsible for the creation of the item bearing his name. According to a Boston disc
jockey (Dick Sommer/Summer) who worked for WBZ in the middle 60's, the earl was an
exceptionally evil person who pirated the creation from the Duke of Shrewsbury. In fact,
to cover up his evil deed he allegedly had the duke eliminated! So you see, to be
historically correct, these creations should be known as Shrewsburies which is quite a
mouthful in itself!

Hi Laurie,
I love the Web Camera pages and was checking out Mawson Base in Antarctica as I usually
do when I decided to see what the picture was like in the Northern Arctic and discovered
Fairbanks listed and then your home page. Congratulations on a superb home page layout -
you have produced a great promotional page for the Deli and your town. The camera shot was
clear and good quality (caught you 5.15pm - still enough light around).
It's Sunday morning here and we are thinking about Breakfast - boy did you have our mouths
watering when we checked the menu !!! Wish you did home delivery's to Australia (but I
guess everyone says something like that).
Any way keep up the good work - we've added your page to our favourites and I'll tell our
friends about your page too.
Will check out the page again soon and who knows, one day we may drop in for a meal.
Thanks

coast.)
We love your web page and we visit it often.
...my father and brother live in Fairbanks. I have asked my father to plant himself in
front of your Delicam sometime so I can catch a glimpse of him online. Needless to say, it
is unlikely that we will be able to link up that way, but I do have him checking out your
page regularly. Some day soon, I will place a credit card order to be delivered to my dad
at work. That will be a shocker for him.
Well, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate and admire the work you've done,
and continue to do on your web page. I will be visiting it again soon. Keep up the good
work and I look forward to coming in for a sandwich the next time we visit the old man of
the north, my dad!
Thanks again for allowing me to visit Fairbanks while I am between visits......

...and every so often we get a hard-to-fill order...
Moi je voudrais une pizza Jambon Fromage!!!!!
It was so wonderful to see your menu from here in Europe. And in spite of this so long
distance between us, it was really wonderful to stay and look through your window.
Yes, I have had a great pleasure to enjoy your site.
Music is very nice too!
Of course this order is a joke....but the view through the window was so marvelous!
Je parle Français, et je vous envoie ce petit message pour vous féliciter pour votre
site sur le net. Je vous appelle de très loin en Europe.
I speak french (better than english of course), and I send you this little message, just
to congratulate you for your nice homepage.
Je parle français et la distance entre nous est très grande, puisque je vous appelle
depuis Liège, une ville située en Belgique, en Europe. (I live in Liège, a little town
situated at 80 kilometers from "Bastogne" this town who saw this terrible
"Battle of the Bulges").
How nice it is to be able to talk with someone who is so long from me! If you want I can
send you a belgian meal recipe... Pourquoi pas... notre "Pôtée aux carottes??"
I hope you will send me a little answer...
Bye
Best regards from Charles.
...and Laurie's answer?
Dear Charles
What do you mean the pizza was a joke? Now I have to eat it all by myself.
I am glad that you have enjoyed our web page. That is why we have it. We want people to be
able to enjoy our place.
Your English is better then my French. We do try to send messages back. Sometimes I'm
serving lunch. Other times it is the middle of the night. So there are delays.
I do enjoy hearing from other places. Thank you for taking the time to look us up. Maybe
some time we will both be eating a pizza at the same time!

Of course we do get letters from Fairbanksans, past and present...
like these...
Laurie,
Hi, I wanted to say thanks for the web site that is hosting the pictures of Fairbanks.
It's been nearly 18 years since I've been in Alaska last and your pictures of Fairbanks
brought back many a good memory of my childhood in Alaska (what little I do happen to
remember of it). Thanks again for the bright and beautiful look to a state I look forward
to living in again.
Sincerely,
PY
Laurie,
Hi there stranger! I am sorry I haven't been in lately, but my student loan comes in on
Tuesday so I will be able to come in again and have one of my usuals. I am having
withdrawals from not having one in so long. Well I better sign off and get to bed, I will
probably dream of my sandwich and eat my pillow.......LOL. See you soon.
Donna
Hey,
As a University of Alaska, Fairbanks grad who has been wandering the world for 20+ years,
I really appreciate your snapshot of home...
Today you remind me how much of a woose I've become hanging out in warmer climates... I
suspect that when I finally get home I'll just have to suffer through a winter before I
become a real Alaskan again.
Thanks!
Kent
